Abstract
Novel methods have been developed for the transformation of unsymmetri cal 1,3-diketones to beta-halo-alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones. These n ew methods complement known syntheses of this functional group, allowi ng efficient access to a previously unattainable regioisomer.
