Abstract
The synthesis of enantiomerically pure hydroxybenzylidene)-1,2-dipheny l-1,2-ethanediamine (1) is described. This multidentate salentype liga nd offers several possibilities for the construction of chiral mono-nu clear or bi-nuclear metal complexes, which may be useful in bifunction al asymmetric catalysis.
