B. Canarelli et al., EPIDEMIOLOGY OF SALMONELLA ISOLATED FROM 1978 TO 1992 AT AMIENS-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL (FRANCE), Medecine et maladies infectieuses, 25(5), 1995, pp. 716-720
908 Salmonella have been isolated from 1/01/1978 to 31/12/1992, that i
s an average of 60 strains a year : 87 % isolated from stool cultures,
and 9 % from bloodcultures. Frequency is higher from June to October.
These Salmonella are distributed in 57 serovars, 10 of which represen
t 79 % of strains. Since a few years we observed a higher frequency of
S. Enteritidis isolation. In 1991 and 1992 we have isolated more S. E
nteritidis than S. Typhimurium which was until now the highest represe
ntative serovar.
