M. Berhil et al., REACTIVITY AND CYCLING BEHAVIOR OF LITHIUM IN PROPYLENE CARBONATE-ETHYLENE CARBONATE-DIMETHYL CARBONATE MIXTURES, Journal of power sources, 55(2), 1995, pp. 205-210
Lithium reactivity was investigated in a propylene carbonate-ethylene
carbonate-dimethylcarbonate (1:1:3 volume) mixture with CF3SO3Li and L
iAsF6 as the lithium salts. Resistance changes due to passivating laye
r formed on bulk lithium and electrodeposited lithium consumption were
found to be diffusion-limited processes. Results indicate that lithiu
m reactivity increases with the temperature. Moreover, it was shown th
at the addition of ethylene carbonate to propylene carbonate generally
deteriorates both the lithium stability and the cycling characteristi
cs, while the addition of dimethyl carbonate enhances these parameters
.
