Abstract
DBR lasers can exhibit significant frequency-errors when operated in w hich a random frequency-hopping schedule. We introduce a simple therma l model which anticipates the frequency errors a change in schedule in duces. Experiments were performed which confirm the validity of the mo del, A compensation scheme is developed which reduces the worst case f requency error range from 32.1 to 7.9 GHz.
