Accumulation of the tooth cementum above the tooth cervix and over the
enamel, forming thus cementum cingulum and sometimes covering the ena
mel surface in the location of the fissures, is a common feature in so
me herbivores and it is called ''cementum spurs''. In this study, a ra
re case of cementum spurs in the population, from the South Europe - D
almatia (Adriatic coast of Croatia) is presented. The authors conclude
that the existance of the cementum spurs (coronal cementum) as a high
er instance, is a result of specific anatomical selfpreservation of th
e tooth in the alveolar socket.
