Abstract
The purpose of this work is to couple different numerical models and a pproximations for the calculation of high speed external flows governe d by the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. The proposed coupling i s achieved by the boundary conditions, which impose viscous fluxes and friction forces on the body for the calculation of the global externa l flow and which impose Dirichlet type boundary conditions on the inte rface for the local model.
