Abstract
A new steroidal saponin, spicatoside C [1], was isolated in the course of phytochemical investigation of the tubers of Liriope spicata. The structure of this compound was established as 25(S)-ruscogenin eta-D-x ylopyranosyl(1-->4)]-beta-D-fucopyranoside.
