Abstract
Three novel lignans of the 2,5-diaryl-3,4-dimethyltetrahydrofuran type
and two structurally related compounds were isolated from an ethanoli
c extract of the Leaves of Ocotea foetens. The structures of these sub
stances were determined by spectroscopic studies (H-1-nmr, C-13-nmr, C
OSY, HMQC, and ROESY).
