Abstract
An unusual echocardiographic appearance of a cardiac echinococcal lesi on confirmed intraoperatively is described in a patient with nonspecif ic cardiac complaints. Although previous reports have emphasized the e cholucent, often multiseptated nature of echinococcal lesions, such ch aracteristics were absent in this case. Thus, in the appropriate clini cal setting, echinococcal infection should be included in the differen tial diagnosis of solid mass lesions of the heart because the surgical approach may need to be altered.
