The H-1, C-13 and F-19 nmr spectra of etrafluoro-5,6-dihydrobenzo[b]na
phth[2,1-f]oxyepin (1) were totally assigned using a combination of tw
o-dimensional nmr techniques. Unequivocal interpretation of the spectr
al data allowed the complete assignments of the resonances. In additio
n, the spectra of compound 1 revealed an unusual through-space carbon-
fluorine coupling which was further supported by NOE and modeling expe
riments.
