H. Nesetrilova et J. Pulkrabek, THE USE OF VARIOUS TYPES OF GROWTH FUNCTI ONS FOR MODELING WEIGHT DEVELOPMENT IN CZECH PIED CATTLE, Zivocisna vyroba, 40(6), 1995, pp. 245-248
Three types of functions were checked in a set of bulls of the Czech P
ied cattle (n = 101) to construct growth curves. Live weight was recor
ded in the interval of 30 to 1 470 days. Three types of models were us
ed to describe the growth pattern: A) Gompertz function y(t)=A.e(-b.e-
kt) B) Function y(t)=A.t(b).e(-kt) C) Richards function y(t)=A.(1-be(-
kt-(l/n)). Richards function has been found to be best for the investi
gated set of bulls out of the growth models used.
