Abstract
In this article thyroid metastasis in a patient who was operated 11 ye ars ago for renal cell, carcinoma is reported with the review of the l iterature. That case was also the first and the only thyroid gland met astasis in 4.124 thyroidectomies during a 17-year period at our depart ment. Because the thyroid gland may be the only and a rare metastatic site, differentiation of the metastatic lesion from the primary thyroi d neoplasm could be difficult.
