J. Lambert et al., EVALUATION OF CONDITIONAL STABILITY-CONSTANTS OF DISSOLVED ALUMINUM HUMIC SUBSTANCE COMPLEXES BY MEANS OF AL-27 NUCLEAR-MAGNETIC-RESONANCE, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 351(1), 1995, pp. 83-87
An analytical procedure for evaluating the conditional stability const
ants K' of aluminum/humic substance complexes, based on Al-27 nuclear
magnetic resonance spectroscopy, is described. It is well suited for t
he determination of Al(III) dissociated from dissolved humic substance
s at slightly acidic pH values. The new procedure offers a good sensit
ivity and requires neither special preparation of the sample nor the e
valuation of complex coupled chemical equilibria. The pK' values range
from 2.0 to 4.3 depending on the ratio [Al-complex] to dissolved orga
nic carbon and the pH.
