T. Masaki et al., INCREASES IN SRC-RELATED PROTEIN-TYROSINE KINASES IN HUMAN LIVER-CIRRHOSIS AND HEPATOCELLULAR-CARCINOMA, HEPATOLOGY RESEARCH, 4(1), 1995, pp. 54-60
We examined the involvement of are-related tyrosine kinases (RTK) in v
arious human liver diseases, such as chronic hepatitis (CH), liver cir
rhosis (LC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), by Western blot and im
munohistochemical analysis using an anti-src-RTK polyclonal antibody (
alpha-416). Our results showed that src-RTK were rarely found in the l
iver tissues from CH patients, while they were found at high amounts i
n those from LC and HCC patients. In addition, src-RTK were expressed
more strongly in HCC than in LC. These results indicate that src-RTK m
ay play important roles in the occurrence and development of LC and HC
C.
