Abstract
It is shown that the general solution of a homogeneous Monge-Ampere eq uation in n-dimensional space is closely connected with the exactly (b ut only implicitly) integrable system partial derivative xi(j)/partial derivative x(0) + Sigma(k=1)(n-1) xi(k) partial derivative xi(j)/part ial derivative x(k) = 0 Using the explicit form of solution of this sy stem it is possible to construct the general solution of the Monge-Amp bre equation.
