Abstract
Statistics has important and interesting interfaces with agriculture i ncluding genetics and breeding of crop plants and animals. The paper d iscusses some of them with concrete applications to problems in agricu lture and genetics. In particular, measuring change in agricultural su rveys, partial diallel crosses useful in plant breeding, stochastic pr ocesses in population genetics and statistical prediction in animal br eeding are discussed.
