A soluble perfluoro-sulfonated ionomer (PSI) was used to coat hollow f
ibre carbon membranes and porous ceramic tubes with the purpose of obt
aining composite PSI membranes. The coating procedure was optimized af
ter studying the viscoelastic properties of the PSI solution. Separati
ng properties of the membranes for mono-, di- and tri-methylamines wer
e demonstrated.
