Abstract
We have recently built an interferometer for diagnosis of KrF-laser-pr oduced plasma using shortened Stokes pulses as probe light. This probe light is generated by a newly developed technique based on transient gain of stimulated Raman and Brillouin scattering in mixed gas media. With this technique, a Stokes pulse of 2 ns (277 nm) can be generated stably from a KrF laser pulse of 20 to 30 ns duration. The procedure f or mixing two kinds of gas is very simple and useful, especially for t emporally accurate measurement. We successfully applied the interferom eter with the probe light in the measurement of KrF-laser-produced pla sma for the first time.
