Abstract
We prove perturbative unitarity of the S-matrix on the physical Hilber t space for Yang-Mills theories with matter fields in the causal appro ach. Here unitarity is a direct consequence of gauge invariance. To es tablish the latter, we prove the C-number identities for gauge invaria nce (Cg-identities).
