Abstract
The cycloadducts formed from arenes and tetrachloro- and tetrafluorobe nzyne have been shown to undergo specific addition-fragmentation react ions. These sequences are both simple syntheses of arenes with unusual substitution patterns and a convenient alternative to the other metho ds currently available for assaying the isotopic distribution in [C-14 ]-labelled benzene derivatives.
