Dx. West et al., COPPER(II) COMPLEXES OF 6-METHYL-2-ACETYLPYRIDINE N(4)-SUBSTITUTED THIOSEMICARBAZONES, Transition metal chemistry, 20(3), 1995, pp. 303-308
Copper(II) complexes of 6-methyl-2-acetylpyridine N(4)-substituted thi
osemicarbazones, coordinated either as a neutral or a monoanionic liga
nd, have been prepared and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.p.r.
spectra of the complexes, as well as H-1- and C-13-n.m.r. spectra of t
he thiosemicarbazones, have been recorded. Both the thiosemicarbazones
and their copper(II) complexes show either modest or no growth inhibi
tory activity against Aspergillus niger, but the N(4)-dialkyl- and 3-a
zacycloderivatives, and particularly their copper(II) complexes, have
considerable activity against Paecilomyces variotii.
