V. Selvamanickam et al., FABRICATION OF (BI,PB)(2)SR2CA2CU3O10 TAPES BY A TUBULAR WIRE PROCESS, Superconductor science and technology, 8(7), 1995, pp. 587-590
(Bi,Pb)(2)Sr2Ca2Cu3O10 tapes have been fabricated by a tubular wire pr
ocess which offers the advantages of near-net shape manufacturing and
a lower ratio of silver to superconductor compared with the convention
al powder-in-tube technique. Critical currents as high as 15 A have be
en achieved at 77 K in short sections of tapes fabricated by this proc
ess. The development of critical current with heat treatment time and
the magnetic-field dependence of critical current of the tapes made by
this process are found to be similar to those of tapes fabricated und
er identical conditions by the powder-in-tube technique.
