A new method for testing necked specimens for thermal fatigue is descr
ibed and used to determine the dependence of the growth rate of therma
l fatigue microcracks on the range of the coefficient of stress intens
ity, the effect of properties of the manufacturing of coatings, their
composition, and the composition of the base metal on the conditions f
or initiation and development of thermal fatigue cracks, as well as th
e effect of the oriented structure in cast high-temperature alloys on
the conditions of their fracture due to thermal fatigue.
