A sex attractant for Atethmia ambusta, a pest on apple and peach trees
, was established in field tests. The blends of 1000 mu g of Z7-14Ac a
nd admixtures of 10, 100 and 1000 mu g of Z5-14Ac respectively were al
most equally attractive to the males of this species. Z7-12Ac and Z11-
14Ac were found to be strong inhibitors of A. ambusta sex attractant.
