R. Mathews et al., MODIFICATION OF DORNIER HM-4 LITHOTRIPTOR FOR PEDIATRIC EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE LITHOTRIPSY, Journal of endourology, 9(3), 1995, pp. 235-237
Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy has enjoyed increasing acceptance
and utility in pediatric urology. The Dornier HM-4 lithotriptor has h
ad good results in adults, but the gantry design does not allow smalle
r children to be treated. We have employed a specially designed yet si
mple ''spacer'' to allow smaller children to be treated safely. The de
vice may also have application in older patients with deformities who
could not be treated in the past.
