This article is a review of a report of a republican feminist conferen
ce, published by its organizers, Clar na mBan. The conference took pla
ce in Belfast in March 1994. The article supports the conference's cri
ticisms of the 'peace process' as exclusive and undemocratic. It also
takes issue with a number of republican and nationalist assumptions ab
out historical and contemporary Ireland.
