Abstract
The influence on pinealectomy and melatonin treatment during pregnancy on prepubertal development of female offspring was study. Offspring w ere studied at the following phases of their development: neonate, inf antile and prepubertal. Growth in offspring of pinealectomized mother rats seems to be activated when their pineal gland becomes active. Mel atonin treatment during pregnancy produced alterations of postnatal es tradiol levels, and oocytes development.
