A simple method of determination of the derivatives of image locations
with respect to both system parameters and the movements of the syste
m components is proposed. A method of two adjusting displacements is s
uggested basing on selection of two adjusting components and removal o
f the deviation of the image position in the two extreme arrangements
of the zoom system. The simulation process of a deviated zoom system i
n its most unfavourable form both in plus and in minus is described an
d the adjustment of the image position discussed. As an example the ad
justment of a four-element zoom objective is given.
