Bp. Segedin et al., STUDIES IN THE AGARICALES OF NEW-ZEALAND - NEW SPECIES, NEW RECORDS AND RENAMED SPECIES OF PLEUROTUS (PLEUROTACEAE), Australian systematic botany, 8(3), 1995, pp. 453-482
Six species of Pleurotus (Fr.) P.Kumm. are recognised. Descriptions ar
e given for P. purpureoolivaceus comb. nov. (= P, rattenburyi), P. vel
atus sp. nov. and P. parsonsii. Three new records, P. australis, P. op
untiae and P. pulmonarius, are described from New Zealand material, an
d cultural characters and mating systems are reported. An anamorphic s
tage, Antromycopsis sp., is described for P. purpureoolivaceus. Interc
ompatibility tests confirm that P. australis, P. opuntiae, P. ostreatu
s (extra-limital), P. pulmonarius and P. purpureo-olivaceus are geneti
cally inter-incompatible. Lentinellus crawfordii, previously recombine
d as Pleurotus crawfordii, is reinstated, and Resupinatus crawfordii i
s recombined as Panellus crawfordii.
