Abstract
At an international workshop, the immune responses observed in cases of protection from HIV infection or disease progression were discussed . An understanding of the immunological mechanisms associated with pro tection from lentivirus infection and disease is likely to have an imp ortant impact on vaccine design and new therapeutic strategies.
