Abstract
We examined the prevalence of intraatrial thrombus in patients with at rial flutter using transesophageal echocardiography as the diagnostic probe, and found that left atrial thrombus occurs with disproportionat ely high frequency in such patients, with male gender and left ventric ular ejection fraction <40% being predictors of left atrial thrombus f ormation.
