Abstract
Using a binary joint transform correlator, the height of the detection peaks is not well controlled. In order to avoid this problem a method to predetermine the value of the correlation is discussed. To guarant ee the success of the method, a frequency variant threshold to binariz e the joint power spectrum and a suitable peak weight should be used. An experimental implementation of the method has been carried out, sho wing a good agreement with theoretical previsions.
