Abstract
While revising the species so far classified in Didymosphaeria (Melano mmatales, Ascomycetes), many species were found to belong to other gen era. Some species are repositioned here. Two genera are reinstated: Ph aeodothis Sydow (Pleosporales, Phaeosphaeriaceae) and Roussoella Sacca rdo (Xylariales, Amphisphaeriaceae). Three new genera are described: A aosphaeria Aptroot (Pleosporales, ?Dacampiaceae), Flagellosphaeria Apt root (Xylariales, Amphisphaeriaceae) and Munkovalsaria Aptroot (Pleosp orales, Dacampiaceae). Three new species are described: Astrosphaeriel la papuana Aptroot, Munkovalsaria rubra Aptroot, Van der Aa and O. Pet rini and Parapyrenis maritima Aptroot. The following new combinations are proposed: Aaosphaeria arxii (Van der Aa) Aptroot, Flagellosphaeria polytrichospora (Lucas and Sousa da Camara) Aptroot, Megalotremis meg alospora (Vainio) Aptroot, Montagnula longipes (Trabut) Aptroot, Monta gnula opulenta (De Notaris) Aptroot, Montagnula palmacea (Cooke) Aptro ot, Montagnula spartii (Castagne) Aptroot, Munkovalsaria donacina (Nie ssl) Aptroot, Mycomicrothelia pachytheca (Saccardo and Sydow) Aptroot, Parapyrenis maclurae (Savulescu Br Sandu) Aptroot, Parapyrenis tecoma tis (Berkeley and M.A. Curtis ex Cooke) Aptroot, Phaeodothis ribesiell a (Nylander ex Vainio) Aptroot, Phaeodothis winteri (Niessl) Aptroot, Roussoella minutella (Penzig and Saccardo) Aptroot, Roussoella scabris pora (Hohnel) Aptroot and Roussoella serrulata (Ellis and G. Martin) K .D. Hyde and Aptroot. The new name Astrosphaeriella minima Aptroot is proposed for Didymosphaeria fusi-spora Penzig and Saccardo.
