Abstract
This article reviews the history of how the IRM was formed in the Unit ed States, and what led to the development of the IRM coordinating com mittee which ultimately was responsible for the development of the Sta ndardized Performance Analysis (SPA). Specifically, activities, commit tees, people, and programs are reviewed with an indication of how thes e impacted the formation of IRM and where it is today.
