Abstract
We describe here the organization of the rRNA genes in Rickettsia prow azekii. In this organism, the 23S and the 5S rRNA genes are tightly li nked to each other, whereas the 16S rRNA gene is separated from this c luster. The 23S-5S unit is preceded by the methionyl-tRNA(f)(Met) form yltransferase gene.
