Abstract
Current and past drug use was assessed in a sample of 77 Canadian corr ectional officers working in two medium-security penitentiaries. 58% o f correctional officers indicated past illicit drug use. This compares with 20% of Canadians who indicate illicit drug use. Correctional off icers were more likely than the general population to have used mariju ana and cocaine.
