Abstract
Two approaches to the estimation of the sensitivity of explosives to e xternal disturbances are proposed. One of them involves evaluation of the hazard of a particular technological operation in the production o r processing of an explosive. The second approach defines a generalize d risk factor for handling of the given explosive. Methods are discuss ed for estimating the average sensitivity. A classification of industr ial explosives by their average sensitivity is given.
