Piezoelectric and elastic properties of a Li2B4O7 single crystal were
investigated using the resonance and anti-resonance method in the temp
erature range from room temperature to 250 degrees C. The piezoelectri
c constants, d(33) and d(31), were 8.76 x 10(-12) C/N and -1.84 x 10(-
12) C/N, respectively. The measured elastic compliances were as follow
s: s(11)(E) = 8.75 x 10(-12) m(2)/N, s(33)(E) = 24.4 x 10(-12) m(2)/N,
s(44)(E) = 16.9 x 10(-12) m(2)/N, s(12)(E) = 1.18 x 10(-12) m(2)/N, s
(13)(E) = -4.82 x 10(-12) m(2)/N and s(66)(E), = 20.5 x 10(-12) m(2)/N
. A previously reported phase transition was not detected in this stud
