Af. Chaix et al., ROTABLATOR AND STENT PROCEDURES IN LEFT M AIN CORONARY-DISEASE, Archives des maladies du coeur et des vaisseaux, 88(1), 1995, pp. 95-97
A 78 year old woman with unstable angina due to significant stenosis o
f the left main coronary artery and occlusion of the right coronary ar
tery was treated medically for 29 months because of a surgical contrai
ndication. Resistance to drug therapy led to referral for complex angi
oplasty of the left main, left anterior descending and left circumflex
arteries, successively by rotablator and balloon angioplasty. An imme
diate elastic recoil on the left main coronary artery led to implantat
ion of a Palma-Schatz stent. There were no complications and the patie
nt is asymptomatic twenty months later.
