Characteristic data of the frequency-modulated simultaneous multieleme
nt atomic absorption spectrometry (FREMSAAS) using electrothermal atom
izer with deuterium background correction, have been determined. The d
ata obtained have been processed by using several statistical tests re
commended for quality control purposes. The instrumentation has been p
resented as well as procedures of separating elements into measure gro
ups and fixing of variable conditions. Detection limits, characteristi
c masses and working ranges have been given for the eleven elements ex
amined. The data have been in good agreement to results obtained with
conventional one-channel AAS instruments. The eleven elements have bee
n simultaneously determined in a standard reference material (SRM) and
all results are compatible with a 95% certainty with the certified va
lues. FREMSAAS has been applied to a real sample.
