Rj. Clos et Ll. Edwards, APPLICATION OF THE LIMITING-CONSISTENCY WEB COMPRESSION MODEL TO VACUUM ASSISTED DRAINAGE CELL TESTS, Tappi journal, 78(7), 1995, pp. 107-114
The limiting-consistency web compression model was applied to the resu
lts of drainage cell experiments. The concept of limiting consistency
ir simple: any dewatering system at constant pressure eventually reach
es a limiting consistency (solids content). The web compression model
was found to describe the basic form of dewatering behavior very well.
However, the effect of surface tension on dewatering rate and limitin
g consistency points out the shortcomings of applying traditional visc
ous flow models to the dewatering of wood pulp.
