Within the framework of dynamic approach, worked out by L. I. Antsyfer
ova, the mutual influence of personality traits and states as mutually
complementary categories was analyzed. The regularities of reorganiza
tion of personality traits and states reciprocal influence in pressure
chamber and mountain climbing were considered. The relation between t
he personality traits and the activation, emotional and cognitive comp
onents of mental states was discussed. The qualitative change of facto
r matrices, which contained results of different experiments was analy
zed. The ''stability'' of the personality traits, which are often cons
idered as the stable ones, is open to question. The conclusion about t
he necessity of the search of direct and mediate relation between the
concrete trait or state and other personality traits and characteristi
cs was made.
