Js. Kempf et H. Abdeldayem, DETECTION OF A 2.1 CM HEPATOCELLULAR-CARCINOMA IN AN 11-YEAR-OLD BOY BY TL-201 CHLORIDE - CASE PRESENTATION AND CORRELATIVE IMAGING FINDINGS, Clinical nuclear medicine, 20(7), 1995, pp. 601-604
Abnormal uptake of TI-201 chloride in the liver along with correlative
radiologic imaging is presented in an unusual case of an 11-year-old
boy with a small 2.1 cm hepatocellular carcinoma. Although planar TI-2
01 images were normal, triple-headed SPECT TI-201 images showed a foca
l area of increased liver activity at the site of the tumor which corr
esponded to a photopenic area on Tc-99m SC SPECT images. The patient s
uccessfully underwent partial liver resection of a pathologically prov
en hepatocellular carcinoma.
