Abstract
For certain application fields the viscosity of epoxy resins is too hi gh. It is possible, however, the lower it by addition of various dilue nts. The influene of 1,1-diphenylethane on the viscosity and reactivit y of casting resin mixtures and on the properties of cured products wa s studied and compared with other diluents. Epoxy systems modified wit h DPE revealed lower viscosity, good chemical resistance and almost un changed mechanical, thermal and electrical properties.
