Abstract
Lithium soaps (abietate, oleate and myristate) were analysed by infrar ed methods and found to be free from water of crystallisation. The sol ubilities of these soaps were determined in mired solvents at temperat ures of 35 and 45 degrees C. The solubility, apparent heat and entropy of solution confirm that a change in micelles occurs at about 40-50% of water + methanol and water + 2-propanone mixtures.
