N. Stribeck et al., STUDY OF THE PHASE-STRUCTURE OF LINEAR POLYETHYLENE BY MEANS OF SMALL-ANGLE X-RAY-SCATTERING AND RAMAN-SPECTROSCOPY, Macromolecules, 28(14), 1995, pp. 5029-5036
A study of the phase structure of two linear polyethylene fractions ha
s been carried out by Raman spectroscopy and from the analysis of the
interface distribution function from the SAXS intensity data. Very goo
d agreement is obtained for the core crystallite thickness, the liquid
-like region, and the thickness of the interface from these two indepe
ndent techniques. Moreover, the X-ray analysis distinguishes isotherma
lly formed crystals from quenched crystals in cases where the Raman te
chnique is not selective.
