P. Refregier et al., BASIC PROPERTIES OF NONLINEAR GLOBAL FILTERING TECHNIQUES AND OPTIMALDISCRIMINANT SOLUTIONS, Applied optics, 34(20), 1995, pp. 3915-3923
The basic properties of nonlinear global filtering techniques are anal
yzed. A nonlinear processor for pattern recognition that is optimum in
terms of discrimination and that is tolerant of variations of the obj
ect to be recognized is presented. We compare this processor with powe
r-law and nonlinear joint transform correlators.
