Ib. Fedotova et al., INFLUENCE OF DIPHENIN, VALPROATE AND PENT OBARBITAL ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF EPILEPTIFORM SEIZURES IN KRUSHINSKY-MOLODKINA RATS, Zurnal vyssej nervnoj deatelnosti im. I.P. Pavlova, 46(6), 1996, pp. 1104-1108
The anticonvulsant action of diphenin, sodium valproate, and pentobarb
ital was studied in Krushinsky - Molodkina (KM) rats subjected to audi
ogenic seizures. The anticonvulsant effects of the drugs were differen
t and dose-dependent, Valproate in a dose of 120 mg/kg completely elim
inated the tonic phase of seizures, Given in a dose of 300 mg/kg it in
50% of cases prevented from the development of the initial seizure st
age of motor excitation. The peculiarity of the pentobarbital action c
onsisted in its ability to change the character of motor excitation du
ring sound stimulation from the one-wave reaction for the two-wave.
