Abstract
The reaction between the dimer [{Zr(COT'')-Cl-2}(2)] (COT'' = 1,4-bis( trimethylsilyl)cyclooctatetraene) and [LiBH4] affords crystallographic ally characterized Zr(eta-C8H6(SiMe(3))(2))(eta(3)-BH4)(eta(2)-BH4)]. The latter reacts with Lewis bases to afford (6):eta(4)-C8H6(SiMe(3))( 2))(mu-H)Zr(eta(3)-BH4)], whose X-ray structure reveals a novel bridgi ng mode for one of the COT'' ligands.
